Performance and Capacity 2014 by CMG — Thank You for Attending!

On behalf of the Conference Committee and Board of Directors, I want to personally thank you for attending this year’s Conference! I hope you enjoyed the sessions as well as meeting the other attendees and hearing you are not alone in your professional challenges!

Conference Evaluations are a critical tool for CMG in planning future Conferences. If you did not complete one onsite or online, please consider doing so, completely anonymously, at 2014 Conference Evaluation. We do read every single comment and act on them.

Your Registration includes a one year membership in CMG. That membership begins December 1, 2014 and lasts through November 30, 2015. This gives you access to much more than just the Conference content from 2014. To review member benefits, click HERE. You should receive access soon!

A lot of changes were implemented for this year’s Conference as CMG’s planned evolution continues. For one, did anybody miss the word about EventBoard? 🙂 Mobile agendas have been a desire in the Conference Evaluations for the past few years. The focus the last 2-3 years has been on updating all of CMG’s technology, mostly originating when we still had, ahem, pagers and dumb phones. Once all the back-end systems were updated, “going mobile” became the 2014 mantra. This mobile app provided the vast majority of what was desired, including a session evaluation feature incredibly not available in many of its competitors! I hope this helped make your Conference experience a better one.

With 88 sessions plus optional Workshops all related to Performance and Capacity Management issues and trends, this is the most comprehensive Conference dedicated to our profession. Follow through with some cost saving you learned last week during the next few weeks/months. Document the savings in dollars/euros/etc. This is what your management wants to hear! Implement savings learned at the Conference equal to four, five or more times the registration fee plus travel and you will have the opportunity to return.

This Conference involves many volunteers, mostly before the Conference week. If you attended the Annual Business Meeting on Monday afternoon, you saw the list. Honestly, as much as I know about what it takes, I was surprised by the number of names the President showed in his slides! If you are interested, you can help make the 2015 Conference successful by volunteering at Volunteer here. Many of these opportunities only take a few hours. And, for most, you do not have to attend the Conference…although we would prefer you did! 🙂

The last two years as the Conference General Chair have been a joy for me. I am somewhat saddened that it is time for me to move on to other challenges but know the Conference has new and greater leadership going forward in Bryan Drake as General Chair, Kathy Steffens as Assistant General Chair and Elisabeth Stahl as Program Chair for 2015. I am excited to see how next year’s Conference in San Antonio, Texas shapes up and know these excellent leaders will create an outstanding program for you! Follow us on Twitter at #CMG2015.

If you ever find yourself lost in the desert Southwest near Phoenix, drop me a line. In the meantime, see y’all in Old San Antone next November!
