• The Tree is recognizable by its prominently displayed bright, heart-shaped leaves, with winds resulting in charming rustling tune…
• King Ashoka was most diligent in paying homage to the Bodhi tree, and held a festival every year in its honor…
• His queen, was jealous of the Tree, she caused the tree to be killed by means of thorns… the Bodhi tree, however, grew again…
• The Bodhi tree was cut down again by later Kings in the 2^nd, 7^th century… but grew again with new form…
• Every time the Bodhi tree shed leaves, got destroyed, it flourished again, with fresh leaves, new branches, spanning across more & more area…

Presented here is the study on variety of New Age tools operating in the space of performance of IT platforms…

Adopting a symbolic representation in the form of the Bodhi Tree… with different branches corresponding to different areas in Performance Evaluation and the different tools as leaves of the tree. Each leaf has its own shade – brightness and combination of colors to bring out the strength of the tool with assessment done on variety of aspects as illustrated.

The fundamental principle underlying this initiative – representation is about (self) awareness – enlightenment…

The objective is NOT being prescriptive, NOT being judgmental BUT provide a consolidated view on some of the different tools available in this non-comprehensive list, invoke inquisitiveness, indicate where they focus on, a point of view on their strength on different parameters…

Being under this Bodhi (Tech) Tree – the “enlightened” reader is aware of the variety of (non-conventional) options in the eco-system, what different directions the players / start-ups in those areas are heading towards, where investments are happening… indicative of underlying currents in industry…

The reader can then seek, study, pursue… the details of individuals in view of what is applicable, useful, convenient, better suitable…to enhance the success – delivery of IT, Business programs…and march towards achieving the state of “Nirvana”… !

This Bodhi (Tech) Tree of New Tools for Performance of IT Platform will continue to have more & more fresh leaves and with earlier leaves evolving colors over season, weather and time…

(Note that the Bodhi (Tech) Tree is about creating awareness and hence would not focus on established “practices” (aka tools which already have significant market share, already in Analyst reports…))

Different branches (sectors – regions) over the tree corresponding to different areas involved in evaluation of Performance of the IT platform… the sequence – placement – adjacency of those areas over the tree logically spans the dimensions in the topic (Performance of the IT Platform)…
