Did you ever tell someone that something was going to go wrong? Repeatedly? But they didn’t act on it? Did you feel like you were screaming into a void where nobody could hear you? You know it doesn’t have to be this way, right? We could just Quit, or perhaps you’re fantasizing about something more drastic. I think we can come up with some better (safer) solutions, to get proactive warnings, acted upon. Hey we might even find a way to make/save your organisation a few $$$ along the way. In the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with a couple of really exciting new clients. They have managed to put in place Capacity Managers, with a clear vision. Capacity Managers, who really got what Capacity Management is about, and that have set out to not just do it, but make sure the results of “it”, are acted upon. I hope to pass on some of that experience, to you, to help you show off exactly what you do for the organisation you work for.
Presenter bio: I first started working in the capacity management field in 2000. Initially I was involved with a product for Unisys Mainframes, and through various roles as both a user and vendor of capacity planning and management software, I have spread my experience over everything from AS400 to VMware. For the past 10 years I’ve been working for Metron as a Consultant. This role continues to bring me into contact with capacity management teams from all sectors, and using a wide variety of technology.
