Business Continuity: Leveraging VR/AR and Virtualization technologies for Business Continuity in Turbulent Times

Abstract:

With the landscape of business changing almost overnight it is challenging to keep the business operating in an efficient way in the world of working from home and new communication paradigms. This session will focus on what can be done in a business to use new technologies to convey information in a far more effective manner and to utilize resources, new and old, in different ways to maintain business continuity as much as you can. Topics will include Virtual and Augmented reality as well as virtualization and remote operation of the workstation infrastructure with examples of how this is working in the real world.

Bio:

Gary Radburn is the Director of VR/AR and Client Virtualization globally at Dell Inc. As part of his role, he manages the team charged with developing and delivering VR/AR technology, works closely with Dell customers on VR/AR deployments and founded Dell’s VR Centers of Excellence with locations around the world for businesses and consumers to experience and learn more about VR in the real world. With more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, ranging from Engineering to Sales and Marketing, Gary has had experience across all aspects of designing successful products and solutions and bringing them to market. He has worked for companies such as Digital Equipment, 3Com and, for the past 18 years at Dell. Originating from the UK, where he managed the OptiPlex client business for EMEA, he went on to lead the Workstation Solutions team in the US and then championed graphics virtualization for engineering applications. This has now progressed into other domains and with the fast adoption of VR and AR solutions and remoting, Gary has taken the helm for driving these exciting new areas of business.
