Abstract:
The mainframe remains as critical as ever for enterprises and is reflected in many users reporting growing workloads year-on-year. This is in part driven by leveraging the mainframe as part of a hybrid cloud architecture exploiting API-enabled resources. The patterns of today’s workloads can be quite different to the past and it is essential a modern approach is taken to manage and optimize. In this session, we’ll explore a set of capabilities the modern mainframe delivers, from application observability to workload cost management, demonstrating the ongoing value and resiliency of the the platform.
About the Speaker:
Chris Walker is a Senior Product Manager with IBM. Over his 20 years at IBM he has covered many roles and products within the mainframe domain, and currently responsible for multiple offerings within IBM’s Z AIOps portfolio covering performance analysis, capacity planning and cost management.
